Nautique introduces the innovative 100% Electric Super Air 230E

Since debuting the Ski Nautique E a year ago, Nautique has been working to develop a 100% electric wakeboard boat and today Nautique introduces to the world, the Super Air Nautique 230 E.

The first viewing of the Super Air Nautique 230 E will be at the Detroit Boat Show on February 11-19, 2012 in the Silver Spray Sports Nautique dealership exhibit. This boat will make additional appearances at Nautique events throughout 2012.

Combined, these two electric engines offer a powerful 160 kW of peak output. Like the Ski Nautique E, the electric motors connect through a transfer case to the propeller shaft of the boat producing performance worthy of the Nautique Brand.

The Super Air Nautique 230 E is equipped with state of the art lithium ion batteries with an available storage capacity of up to 78 kW-hours.

Team Nautique athlete, Clementine Lucine, set two new World Records -

The first in Tricks with 10,040 points and the Overall with 2,971 points behind the world-renowned Ski Nautique 200 pending approval from the International Waterski Wakeboard Federation (IWWF).

Lucine’s overall score of 2,971 points was a combination of 10,040 points in tricks, a slalom run of 5.5@38-off and 163 feet in jump! Besides the excitement of two World Records for Lucine, she was also the first female to trick over 10,000 points making history while competing in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Lucine made a few adjustments such as becoming quicker in toe tricks which allowed her to add two 180’s. She also did an in hands back landing reverse instead of a back roll which allowed her to gain 260 points more than her previous record.

“A few years back, no one thought women would trick over 10,000 points but with the support of sponsors, coaches, family and friends I started dreaming about it last year, commented Team Nautique skier, Clementine Lucine. “The Ski Nautique 200 is the best 3-event boat in the world and to be able to both train and compete behind the Nautique made all of the difference,” added Lucine.

NAUTIQUE ANNOUNCES THE INDUSTRY’S FIRST HIGH PERFORMANCE 100% ELECTRIC BOAT

Ski Nautique E

Nautique announced the industry’s first high performance 100% electric boat, the Ski Nautique E. To explore future propulsion technology, Nautique has partnered with LTS Marine, a Canadian company who specializes in electric motors.

LTS Marine began teaming up with Nautique during 2010 to test their electric system in a Ski Nautique. The Ski Nautique E contains two automotive electric motors that provide all the power necessary to meet the every day needs of our customer. The electric motors connect through a transfer case to the propeller shaft of the boat producing tournament worthy performance.

The Ski Nautique E is equipped with state of the art lithium ion batteries that are located to keep the center of gravity according to the boat performance; when fully charged this is equivalent to eight gallons of gas accommodating up to four slalom skiers during a session and achieving speeds of nearly 40mph. This new emissions free technology is extremely eco-friendly and requires minimal maintenance.

Ski Nautique E

Two of the world’s most highly regarded water skiers recently skied behind the Ski Nautique E. Andy Mapple, 6 time Men’s World Champion stated, “In over four decades of water skiing this new boat from Nautique is the most exciting advancement I have seen. Waterski boats are the high end of boating and require tremendous performance; and Nautique, partnering with LTS, has made it work! This is forward thinking; it will be no surprise to anyone that Nautique is the boat company that made this happen.”

Current Women’s World Champion, Whitney McClintock commented, “The Ski Nautique E is powerful and peppy getting up to speed! It was a strong and smooth pull through the slalom course. While I was tricking, the only difference was the silence…It was nice to enjoy the sound of the water… So pure!”
